The Accounts Payable Clerk is responsible for processing invoices timely and accurately, making sure invoices have appropriate authorization and coding and vendors are paid timely.
Open and sort mail Scan invoices and distribute for authorization and coding as needed.
Review invoices for appropriate documentation and approvals Research and resolve invoice discrepancies.
Enter invoice information into computer software.
Process payments Maintain vendor files.
Review and reconcile monthly vendor statements.
Annual 1099 preparation, filing and reporting.
Assist with audits as they relate to Accounts Payable functions.

Qualifications:

years Accounts Payable experienceKnowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Experience & Skills Knowledge of Microsoft Excel Strong data entry skills Proficient 10 key skill Detail oriented with strong organizational skills.
Written and oral communication skills Strong analytical and mathematical skills Flexible team player who is willing to help others when needed.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
