Job Details:
An 80-bed general medical/surgical community hospital in southern coastal Maine is seeking an experienced Directory of Pharmacy Services. The Director is responsible for the operation of Pharmacy Services, including strategic planning, day-to-day operations, pharmaceutical care, clinical and distributive services, financial management, legal responsibility and personnel management (22 Pharmacists and Techs).
Primary responsibilities include:
Overall Leadership of Pharmacy Services including both inpatient and retail pharmacy locations and services.
Plans, organizes, directs and controls the delivery of pharmaceuticals to all inpatient, outpatient and emergency care areas including, neonatal, infant, pediatric, adult and geriatric patients, in accordance with established Hospital policies and procedures and all applicable State and Federal laws and regulations.
Provides support to the Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee.
Responsible for establishing and implementing the quality monitoring and improvement program for pharmacy services.
Responsible for developing and promoting collaborative and collegial relationships with nurses, physicians and intradepartmental personnel as they relate to the pharmaceutical care of the patients.
Assures compliance with standards of practice from accreditation organizations
Job Requirements:
Graduate of an accredited School of Pharmacy with a BS and/or PharmD required
Post graduate business/health care administration degree is preferred.
State of Maine PharmacistLicense
5+yearsof Director-level pharmacy leadership experience in a medium-large acute care hospital.
Outstanding Leadership skills.
Previous experience developing a pharmacy model for community site services is preferred
